From the Archives: SDP featured in Engage!

SDP was recently featured in Engage Winter 2013. The University publication is sponsored by the Division of Outreach and Engagement.

Here are the highlights!

First off, Kylie Thomas Rudisill’s photo was featured in the article. Her response to the promote “I want a world that…” shares what have and cares for each other. That’s pretty awesome, Kylie!

The program (and it’s programming), this blog and yours truly was introduced: “Jess Durkin…developed the Spiritual Diversity Project. Programming includes evening discussions of Islam and Buddhism facilitated by faculty and community members, and participation in the Cultural Society of India’s annual celebration of the Hindu festival: Diwali.” “…the blog provides a space for the exploration of what faith means to USI students…” “Works of public art, architecture, lectures, and retreats will provide opportunities for discussion and expression for diverse spirituality.”

The article also explains the link between SDP and Historic New Harmony:” Historic New Harmony is supporting the initiative with the aim of better integrating it’s ongoing interfaith dialogue series into USI campus life.” “A significant piece of this utopian legacy involves the spiritual dimension of community.”
